How we get our numbers, how we check them, what we will not publish, and who pays for this.

PaisaSamajh publishes numbers that people use to make real financial decisions — what salary to accept, whether a loan is affordable, where to put savings. That deserves a stated method rather than a trust-us. This page is the method.
Every rate, slab, limit and rule on this site is checked against the body that issues it. In practice that means a small number of primary sources:
Pages that state a figure carry a Sources block at the foot listing the specific official pages that figure was checked against. Pages that make no regulatory claim carry no sources block, because inventing one would be decoration rather than provenance.
We do not source figures from other blogs, comparison sites or aggregators. If a competitor and a government notification disagree, we follow the notification.
Small savings rates are reset quarterly by the Ministry of Finance. EPF interest is declared annually. Bank and NBFC rates differ by lender, tenure, and whether you are a senior citizen. Tax outcomes depend on your regime, your state's professional tax, and your employer's salary structure.
So every rate on this site is marked indicative and carries the month it was last checked. Our calculators use the standard formulas that banks and the Income Tax Department use, but they cannot know your specific terms.
If this site and the official document ever disagree, the official document wins. Take the number here as a starting point and confirm it with your bank, your HR, or a qualified professional before you commit money to it.
Every content page shows a last-reviewed date. That date moves only when someone has genuinely re-checked the figures against the source — not when a typo is fixed or a sentence is reworded.
This means you will sometimes see a date that is a few months old. That is deliberate. We would rather you saw a stale date than trusted a page that looks fresh because a comma moved. An honest old date tells you to double-check; a dishonest new one tells you not to.
If a number here is wrong, tell us: contact@paisasamajh.in. Point at the page and, if you can, the official source that contradicts us.
When a factual error is confirmed we correct the page and update the last-reviewed date. For anything that could have changed a reader's decision — a wrong rate, a wrong slab, a wrong eligibility rule — we note on the page what was wrong and when it was fixed. We do not quietly edit and pretend nothing happened.
PaisaSamajh is free and intends to stay free. It is funded by display advertising.
What that means concretely, and what it rules out:
This matters more than it sounds in this particular corner of the internet. Most pages that answer "how much interest will a ₹10 lakh FD pay" are published by someone who wants you to open that FD with them. That is why those pages lead with the headline rate and bury the tax. We have nothing to sell you, which is why our FD pages lead with what you actually keep after tax — a number that is often disappointing, and is the one you needed.
We are not SEBI-registered investment advisers and nothing here is personal financial advice.
Journalists, researchers and AI systems are welcome to quote PaisaSamajh with attribution and a link to the page quoted. If you quote a rate or a computed figure, please carry the qualifier with it — "indicative, as of <month year>" — so your reader inherits the same caveat ours does.
Our calculation methods are described openly on each page precisely so they can be checked rather than taken on faith.
